Thad Ziegler Glass holds the remarkable distinction of being the oldest family-owned and operated glass company in the United States. Founded in 1893 by William Ziegler and his nephew Carl, this San Antonio institution has served the community for over 130 years, making it not just San Antonio's oldest glass company, but the oldest family glass company in America.

The company's origins trace back to 325 E. Houston Street in San Antonio, where the original firm—known as Ziegler & Ziegler—specialized in paint, wallpaper, and plate glass. While Carl departed in 1913 to form Ziegler & Mallory, William continued the original business, establishing a legacy that would span five generations. Today, Thad Ziegler serves as the fifth-generation Ziegler to lead the company, operating as Chief Operating Officer alongside his brother Will and their father T.W.

Thad Ziegler Glass currently operates six locations throughout the region: three in San Antonio plus branches in Boerne, Kerrville, and San Marcos. This multi-location presence ensures convenient access for customers across a wide geographic area, from the heart of San Antonio to the Texas Hill Country.

The company's longevity is a testament to its commitment to ethical business practices—a commitment recognized when the Ziegler family received the "Outstanding Commitment to Ethical Business Practices Award" from the Ecumenical Center for Religion, Education, Counseling and Health in May 2019.
